Track Saw Buying Guides

Track Saw Brands and Models: A Directory for Comparing the Right Tools

A brand name is a starting point for track-saw research, not a complete product specification. The same maker may offer corded and cordless saws, several generations, different kit numbers and rail accessories that look similar in a search result. Use this directory to identify the machine you mean, then open its individual model guide for the documented specifications and matching offers.

DeWalt: do not stop at the older 60V-versus-corded choice

DeWalt has an official DCS525B 20V XR track-saw product page. A 20V DeWalt track-saw query therefore should not automatically be dismissed as confusion with an ordinary circular saw. The older DWS520 corded family and DCS520 cordless family are separate model identities. Keep the number attached to every comparison: a feature described for one model does not automatically carry over to another generation.

An official product page also is not proof that every retailer has inventory today. A model can be announced, listed, sold in selected configurations or temporarily unavailable. Compare the specific purchase listing with the manufacturer page, and check what a tool-only, saw-and-track or battery kit actually contains. Do not treat every yellow circular saw returned by an Amazon search as a TrackSaw.

Kreg: distinguish the motorized saw from Accu-Cut

Kreg’s legacy KPTPS100A URL now resolves to a live page that identifies KPTPS200B, a 20V Ionic Drive cordless plunge-cut track saw. Kreg also uses the Adaptive Cutting System name, while Accu-Cut is a guide for an existing circular saw. Someone searching Kreg track saw may therefore mean a motorized saw, a guide attachment or expansion tracks, and each needs a different checklist.

The current KPTBPS200B kit page lists a saw, battery and charger but no track. Retained marketplace records may still say KPTPS100A, so compare the identifier and included-items list rather than inferring generation or rail contents from a photograph. For the motorized saw, begin with the named Universal Track and power system.

Makita: keep SP6000, XPS and GPS families separate

The individual Makita guides on this site distinguish SP6000J, XPS01, XPS02 and GPS01. When you move between them, recheck the power source, wireless extraction features, included equipment and exact regional suffix. A familiar-looking saw body is not a safe basis for assuming batteries or accessory specifications. A marketplace listing that says only Makita XGT plunge saw may be relevant, but it still needs an exact model check before its measurements are assigned to a comparison table.

Use the manufacturer designation when searching for a manual or replacement part. If a listing is renewed, keep that condition visible when comparing it with new stock. A renewed tool and a new kit can differ in included accessories, warranty arrangements and return terms even when the underlying saw model matches.

Festool: model numbers matter more than a generic brand comparison

Our separate Festool guides cover TS 55, TS 60, TS 75, TSC 55 and TSV 60 families, including clearly identified cordless generations. Do not collapse all of these into a single Festool specification. A scoring-saw model, a larger-blade model and a cordless model answer different needs. The precise suffix and the stated market also matter when following an older review or shopping a cross-border listing.

Compare the actual documented blade requirements before ordering consumables by the phrase Festool track saw blade. A previous generation’s blade listing may not suit the machine you intend to buy. Regional language, voltage or an incomplete kit description deserves another check rather than a confident assumption that the listing is the US version.

WEN, Milwaukee and other families: preserve the exact identifier

WEN CT1065, CT1272, CT1274 and 20691 have separate guide pages because their identifiers should not be flattened into WEN track saw. Milwaukee 2831 listings can similarly appear as a bare tool or a kit. Read the complete model and included-items information instead of treating the first returned bundle as the standard package. If a bundle title omits the saw number, this site can present it as an unmatched listing rather than inventing a specification record.

The same method applies to Bosch, Metabo HPT, Triton, Grizzly, Ryobi, Ridgid and other brands in the directory. Confirm the exact manufacturer name as well as the model: closely related-looking brand names and regional names do not establish product identity. A manufacturer manual is the starting point for a technical comparison; an affiliate listing establishes an offer, not independent proof of every compatibility claim.

Guide systems and legacy models belong in their own context

Milescraft and BORA guide products, Kreg Accu-Cut and track-compatible ordinary circular saws should be labeled by what they are. They can be valid alternatives without being described as identical plunge-saw designs. A guide rail sold for a brand likewise is not evidence that the listing contains the saw. This distinction keeps both search results and budget comparisons useful.

For an older model, record whether you found a current manufacturer page, an archived manual or only marketplace stock. Those are different forms of evidence. Do not label a tool discontinued merely because one retailer is out of stock, and do not label it current production solely because a used listing remains available. The model guide should explain the evidence and its limits before making a purchase recommendation.

Questions about Track Saw Brands and Models: A Directory for Comparing the Right Tools

Does DeWalt make a 20V track saw?

DeWalt publishes an official DCS525B 20V XR track-saw page. Check current retailer availability and the exact kit contents before ordering.

Yes. Kreg’s live pages identify KPTPS200B tool-only and KPTBPS200B kit versions; older 100A identifiers remain in legacy URLs and marketplace records.

Is every track-saw search result a complete saw?

No. Results can include blades, rails, guide adapters, repair parts or unrelated circular saws. Check the model and included-items list.
