The reason to consider a 7-1/4-inch model
A larger blade can make sense when thicker stock is part of the project list, but diameter is only the first filter. The useful measurement is cutting depth in your actual setup, including the rail and any bevel. For repeated plywood work, a larger blade does not automatically yield straighter edges. Rail alignment, material support and blade suitability still determine whether the resulting parts assemble cleanly.
